Take a look at this renovated home in Dallas’ Lakewood neighborhood built in the 1920s

Situated on coveted Lakeshore Drive, this 1926 build has a historic feel that was updated for modern living. The home has four bedrooms and four full bathrooms in its 3,433 square feet.

Listing agent Ellen Lewis of Briggs Freeman Sotheby’s International Realty said the home sits in the conservation district, and all updates were made to ensure that the home stays consistent with its original design. Lewis said the second level of the home was added about 10 years ago, and it maximizes square footage without taking away from the design.

“They made it much more of a functional floor plan,” Lewis said of recent updates that include adjustments in the primary suite and main living areas.

The first level of the home was reconfigured so that the living room, dining room and kitchen have a more open floor plan. Picture-frame molding adds a luxe level of detail to the rooms, and the original Rookwood tile fireplace draws the eye to the front of the home.

The remodeled kitchen has custom cabinetry, a built-in breakfast nook, and pops of color on the tile backsplash. The dining area sits between the kitchen and the living room, easily accessible for entertaining.

The primary suite is on the first floor, with an en suite bathroom complete with a separate bathtub and shower. There’s also a study on the first level, complete with built-in bookshelves and a custom-designed ceiling to mimic the historic architecture.

The three remaining bedrooms sit on the second level. One bedroom has an en suite bathroom, the other two share a bathroom. There’s also an additional playroom on the second floor.

Outside, the home has a patio living area, pool and living quarters for guests.

6521 Lakeshore Drive is listed for $1,300,000. As of Thursday, the home is under contract.
